Just one of the many crewmen who lost their lives

This sad picture shows how dangerous it is to work at sea. Nothing is taken for granted. God bless his soul.
Sums it all up - we struggle as hard as possible to help others, in the full knowledge that it could be one of us and we would hope that others would do the same. In the face of death, there is no reason to be found, just a void which can never be filled.

Got a feeling this is from the wreck of the Swedish barque Trifolium wrecked at Sennen Cove 15th March 1914. Possibly shows Gothenburg on the lifebelt.

Halfhidden has the name for the image as Trifolium, and it is Göteborg on the belt.

This is possible treeve. Some of the pictures are very old and may have been placed back in the albums incorrectly. I ll take a closer look at the original image. As I have literally thousands of theses pictures (so I m led to believe from my farther) for wrecks from all over the world.... I ve decided to nominate a complete wed site for them. It s only fair that my grandfather s collection is given the audience he would have wanted. I am limited on here with pictures of Penwith only...... who made these rules up!
I ll contact you via pm later treeve. ::6:

Looking more closely at the story (now on the picture of the Trifolium wreck); It appears that this may be a survivor. Coastguard Oddy pulled in the young man Gustav Ollerberg; there are two coastguard officers here. Resuscitation in operation.

To be absolutely honest, when I hear all the bitching and moaning that goes on daily - I ask - what the h*** have you got to complain about. I have researched and read enough histories of life and death to make me realise just how good we have it all.
