Mary, thank you for those notes. My father was a great admirer of this business. I have just uncovered a huge number of negatives and transparencies I've not seen for over twenty years so there maybe more of this and other past scenes from the town. But, it may be some time before they appear here.

Do not mind at all, sparky. Wish I could be around more but real life has been fighting back lately. I have many pics to process, I'll probably be flooding you some time in the future. Still drop in now and then and love the site.

I don't know of any in Penwith any longer. You need to find someone with current local knowledge. there is a delightful video of Tregeseal Tea Treat 1992 on youtube by Chris Hatch featuring Pendeen Silver. I know that in the Warrington area they have "Walking Days" when each parish has a...

Thanks for this information, which I have just discovered. My partner is Angus's grand-daughter. We know of only one of his inn-signs extant, in the Turk's Head there are a number of old signs in the passageway, one of which is his. If anyone knows of any other we'd be delighted to hear of them.

I believe this is Pendeen Silver, the uniform fits and the chap in the front with the bow-tie could be Tom Chainey who was conductor in the 1960s which fits this picture. I was very familiar with the congregational church as I attended the Boys Brigade in the school room there twice a week for...

Another lovely set pard, thank you, although you make me quite homesick. I believe I went into the fougou with the St Just & Pendeen OCS back in the 1960s. Did you know that, when North St.Just was separated off from St Just in the 19th century, Pendeen House gave its name to the parish.

Davy's wine merchants site was cleared around about 1982 as far as I could tell from my own pictures. See this and several others in the same album. http://picturepenzance.co.uk/photos/showimage.php?i=24149&c=689
