Mary, thank you for those notes. My father was a great admirer of this business. I have just uncovered a huge number of negatives and transparencies I've not seen for over twenty years so there maybe more of this and other past scenes from the town. But, it may be some time before they appear here.

Thanks for this information, which I have just discovered. My partner is Angus's grand-daughter. We know of only one of his inn-signs extant, in the Turk's Head there are a number of old signs in the passageway, one of which is his. If anyone knows of any other we'd be delighted to hear of them.
I believe this is Pendeen Silver, the uniform fits and the chap in the front with the bow-tie could be Tom Chainey who was conductor in the 1960s which fits this picture.

I believe I went into the fougou with the St Just & Pendeen OCS back in the 1960s.
Did you know that, when North St.Just was separated off from St Just in the 19th century, Pendeen House gave its name to the parish.
Davy's wine merchants site was cleared around about 1982 as far as I could tell from my own pictures. See this and several others in the same album.
